The Songsters are our church choir. The leader is Lindsay Guy who has been leading the Songsters since 2001, and our pianist is Sandra Mew who has been playing for the songsters since 1962. We couldn’t run our group without Tom Grant who takes care of our extensive music library (and keeps Lindsay on track and in line!) or Dave Mew, the former Songster Leader who leads the group if Lindsay’s absent.
We practice on Tuesdays from 6:30pm at the Corps (church) at 33 Diana Avenue in Brantford. Our group is open to those 13 and up. As our mission is to spread the Word of God through music, we participate in the Sunday services (11:00am) as well as in the community as needed or invited, such as caroling at Christmas or participating in services at local nursing homes, etc.
Our music is gospel-based Christian music, mostly from the Salvation Army choral publications The Musical Salvationist or Sing To The Lord. Please contact Lindsay or the Corps office for more details.
